Know Who You’re Dealing With
founder
I’ve been turning wrenches ever since I was a kid. In elementary school, I use to check out every car magazine, every month, at my local library and go through every page (even the weird pages at the end – you car guys know what I’m talking about).
In high school, I was rebuilding engines and doing all kinds of repair/maintenance work on my family, friends and even some of my teacher’s cars. By the end of high school, I was welding, machining and fabricating custom car parts and doing custom body work.
I wanted to work at a car shop, but my dad told me that I should keep cars as a hobby and get a different career. I ended up going to the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California and became a top recruit as an analyst for Wells Fargo Bank.
After managing over $500 million in institutional-grade accounts and a few coincidental car enthusiast events, I decided to leave the corporate world to pursue my lifelong love for cars.
Since starting RIIM, I’ve had the opportunity to own and drive cars that some people dream of, including myself! I’ve also seen the darker side of the business like dealer’s turning back odometers, “washing” titles, fraudulently passing smog tests, hiding fees and more.
That’s why I take a great deal of pride in my simple and honest approach:
“If I wont buy it for myself, then I wont buy it to sell to you.”
